1995 was the year ‘web marketing’ and ‘e-commerce’ were recognised as commercial realities. Amazon and eBay both launched that year, and there were still another three years of life before Google. Much has changed since then with the development of Web 2.0, the growth in mobile Internet access, and the social media revolution. However, one thing that’s remained constant is the benefit to be gained from effective integration.
Iain co-founded one of the UK’s first web design and development agencies in 1996 and moved on to launch a specialist digital marketing consultancy in 1999. After a short sabbatical in 2007, he took a client-side role as Head of Digital Marketing at The Wine Society before returning to consultancy as Heartwood Digital in 2010.
A regular speaker at conferences on web analytics, SEO and social media marketing, Iain is also Executive Director of The Ted Simon Foundation, a non-profit organisation based in northern California.
